Review of Samsung PL150 12.4 Mega-Pixel Digital Camera
IMPORTANT UPDATE:
Unfortunately, after using this camera on only 4 separate occasions, the shutter started sticking. It also happened at random, so, sometimes it would get stuck halfway, stuck a pinch, or not stuck at all. I kept having to open the shutter fully with my fingernail. Let me tell you that I got really tired of doing this, and really really sad and disappointed. I wanted this camera to be perfect, because I love the front LDC display so much.
On a brand new camera, this is not something that I should have to be dealing with. Therefore, I have returned my camera and exchanged it for the Nikon S8000 10X zoom 14.2 Megapixel camera. It was on sale, so it was only 50 dollars more. I will tell you about it after I use it more. So far, so good.
Sorry Samsung, but I couldn’t trust that it was just a dud, and went for something more reliable.
Purchase at your own risk.

I finally purchased a new camera after my beloved Casio Exilim 6 MegaPixel kicked the bucket a few months ago.
The Samsung PL 150 has a dual LCD display. You can take pictures of yourself and a friend without guessing if you’re aiming right. This was my reason for purchasing this camera. When it is off, you’d never know there’s a screen on the front, it’s very sleek and hidden until you turn it on.
As amazing as the front LCD screen is, this camera has much much more to offer. Its seven degree tilt-back allows you to set it on the table and aim it perfectly at you. It also has a very cool automatic smile detector. You can take all sorts of styles of pictures, including portrait, night portrait, backlight portrait, macro portrait, night, backlight, landscape, white, natural green, blue sky, sunset, macro, macro
text, macro color, tripod, action, fireworks, black&white, beach&Snow, close up text, and cloudy among others.
text, macro color, tripod, action, fireworks, black&white, beach&Snow, close up text, and cloudy among others. The camera also features HD videos which is excellent to capture the moment. So far, I’ve captured my friend’s two himalayan cats fiercely licking a strawberry. I’d never seen a cat that loves strawberries. Now to capture Ashes so that I can take fun pictures for new monthly banners!
I’m not a great photographer myself, so, I like that this camera has a smart auto function, which judges your scene and takes a pictures accordingly. The smile feature is very fun to play with. I tested that feature out quite a bit on different people, and it totally works. I haven’t tried every single option on the camera just yet, but I’m extremely pleased.
The camera is not complicated, just point and shoot if you don’t want to play with special options. The back LCD screen has a very clear picture, and when you’re selecting various options, they are explained in writing on the screen. There are so many modes that you can use so that you can appear to be an excellent photographer.
In addition, the front LCD screen also has a children’s mode, which plays a little video of a little clown with a bouncy ball noise. Perfect for distracting babies so that they look at the camera. I paid $228 for this camera, which is very reasonable. Check out all of its specs and info here at Samsung’s website.

Sounds like a good deal. I’m also looking for a new camera here.
