Dooce Community

Posted by darleya

If there are those of you out there that have never heard of Dooce, then you have to read Heather Armstrong’s blog. She is an incredibly talented woman that makes me laugh. I’m not even in the same life situation as her, but yet can relate to what she discusses.

Recently, she’s started a new addition to her website called Dooce Community.

Dooce Community is a community of all the Dooce readers, and, if you don’t know already, Dooce has an enormous internet following, and makes her living off her blog. As we speak, or rather, as I write, there are 4100 people on Dooce Community right now just to give you an idea.

In this community, you ask random questions, questions that provoke thoughts, emotions, or laughter. Everyone gets along, and everyone is very supportive for those that post serious questions. I could spend all day on this site.

Questions that I’ve enjoyed so far are the following:

What is the worst baby/child’s name you have heard?
How did you quit smoking?
What should the naughty people this year get for Christmas instead of coal?
What is the most frequently used program on your computer?
Are you more likely to shave your legs for your husband or your gynocologist?

And there are many many more. It’s basically a place to talk to people about random things on your mind, or just to have a good conversation, because the question format gives a specific topic for people to discuss. My main love of it is because the people on there are all witty and hilarious, they seriously make me giggle out loud. A lot.

In addition, I’ve found many other bloggers through Dooce Community with great things to offer me during my slacking time, or whenever! I’ve even garnered more people to this site! I heart the internet.

Enjoy!
