Review of Murale
Murale is a brand new store that is located in the Place D’Orleans shopping center in Orleans, Ontario(Ottawa). This is the first store of its kind, and I’m very surprised by their choice of location. Surprised and happy.
Walls of exquisite beauty. You walk in there, and it’s like you’re walking into some sort of white museum of global luxury prestige cosmetics; from the Dior wall, the Channel alley, the Shiseido shelves, and Nars make-up
corner among many many others. It’s a fantastic place. There are plenty of rare European brands, and a good blend of both high-end products and mid-range ones. It’s very dangerous if you’re trying to save, but it’s crisp and new.
The design of the store is almost more inspiring than the products they carry. Everything is so wonderfully laid out and labelled. It has a very open concept, there’s plenty of room to walk around, everything’s tucked in nicely in the walls.
The store also offers personalized and unbiased beauty advice, the Murale Beauty Masters will assist customers in finding cosmetics and fragrances suited to their needs and also provide expert makeup applications. I have yet to try this service.
What’s even more surprising and great? This store is fully owned and operated by Canada’s own Shopper’s Drug Mart. Yes, you can use your Optimum card on these purchases. I didn’t even know this until I bought something, I was shocked that this was a Shoppers Brand. Well done.
Comparing this store to Sephora, I’d say they don’t offer quite as many brands as Sephora, but this place is calm and inviting; not chaotic. The important brands are there.
Go and check it out, you’ll love it.
UPDATE: There is now a store in Toronto as well. They are located on Crescent road at Mount Pleasant. A nice location.
