Mongolian Village
Mongolian Village is Restaurant with two locations in Ottawa. What makes this restaurant original, is that you create your own food masterpiece; there isn’t a menu other than beverages.
You get seated at a table, they provide you with the soup choices, which comes with your meal, they take your drink orders and you then proceed to the buffet/cooking area. What you have to do is grab all your ingredients and place them in a bowl, give it to a cook where they then weigh it and stir fry it. It gets served to you at your table where you’ll have rice and rice papers to enjoy it with.
What makes this so great is the ingredients. You can choose so many different items, and as many as you want, but be careful, you pay your meal according to its weight. There is a wide variety of vegetables, including zucchini, bamboo sprouts, different types of mushrooms, onions, pickles, olives, broccoli, pretty much any vegetable you can think of, and then some. They also have tofu and marinated tofu, specialty noodles, seafood and shellfish selections, fish, and raw meat, including lamb, chicken, pork, beef, and marinated chicken, among others.
They then have a huge selection of different sauces. I like to use a few sauces, such as coconut milk, curry, spicy thai, peanut sauce, you name it! At your table you’ll have Hoisin sauce, and can ask for hot sauce to add to your creation. I enjoy eating my meal with chop sticks, but they’ll also provide you with a fork and a knife.
It’s a different experience each time we go, because you make your meal differently each time. I love it, and it’s healthy. You’ll get a fortune cookie, too!
Here is their website address, check it out!
