GIACOMO's
Giacomo’s is my neighbourhood’s new local ice cream/gelato/candy parlour.
It is splendid.
The decor would be a cross between Sugar Mountain and an Italian Gelato place. The selection is very great. Three floor to ceiling walls of candy, chocolate, and sugar; and over 25 varieties of ice cream and gelato. I didn’t count them.
Today I had the French Vanilla Classic Ice Cream, because I’m old fashioned like that. It’s probably the smoothest French Vanilla ice cream I’ve had. My husband had pop corn gelato, and said it tasted just the same as though he’d eaten popcorn. Personally, not my thing, but I did try it and it does taste just like it. You have to love popcorn.
I’ve also filled up on candy prior to watching a movie, they’ve got just as much as at Sugar Mountain downtown, and they’re cheaper!
If you’re in Orleans, or Ottawa, you should give it a try before the summer’s done.
